Ben Marshall was raised in Mahtomedi, Minnesota, where he began his hockey journey with Mahtomedi High School. Ben’s talent on the ice was recognized when he was drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in the 5th round of the 2010 NHL Draft. He then played for the Omaha Lancers in the USHL before committing to the University of Minnesota from 2011 to 2015.

During his college career, the Golden Gophers achieved significant success, including NCAA tournament appearances and conference championships. After college, Ben embarked on a professional career that began in the ECHL with the Indy Fuel, where he was named to the ECHL All-Rookie Team.

He then moved on to the AHL, playing for the Providence Bruins. Seeking new challenges, Ben took his career to Europe, playing in multiple leagues, including the KHL with Dinamo Riga and the DEL with ERC Ingolstadt and Schwenningen Wild Wings. His skating has been particularly praised during his time in the DEL.
